Support of the expanded portfolios of SIMATIC S7-1500 and S7-1200 controllers
WinCC V13 supports the communication between different HMI devices and the new SIMATIC S7-1500 and S7-1200 controllers of the SIMATIC S7 controller family. Both portfolios have been expanded by additional controllers. Due to the integration of STEP 7 and WinCC into the TIA Portal the symbolic addressing of data can easily be used in the HMI. WinCC V13 also supports the new alarm and diagnostic concept of the S7-1500 controllers for HMI devices.

Support of the 2nd generation Basic Panels
The completely innovated 2nd generation SIMATIC HMI Basic Panels will be released for delivery in Q1/ 2014 (80906101). The units with their high-resolution widescreen displays and additional function keys can be configured with WinCC V13. The intuitive device change with integral size adaptation enables users to easily switch to the new devices.

Cooperation of WinCC with STEP 7 across projects
Especially during the engineering phase of automation tasks several persons may have to work simultaneously on one project. With the TIA Portal V13 and the PLC-Proxy function, control and visualization tasks can be developed in parallel. Using a PLC Proxy, the data to be visualized can be taken over from a STEP 7 or STEP 7 V5.4 Update 3 project into the visualization project, in order to configure the panel in parallel.

Intuitives User Interface with maximum ease of use
Editors that are matched to the configuration task and process, plus latest Windows technologies, form the basis for the intuitive HMI concept of WinCC V13. The integration of different editors into a uniform working environment ensures that all the latest data are available to the user, ensuring a complete overview of the project data at any time.

Universal library concept
A universal library concept is available for re-using often required program sections and for easy standardization of certain programs. Elements such as blocks, tags, alarms, HMI images, image s, single modules or complete stations can be stored with their parameters in local or global libraries. They are then available for further programming jobs or configurations.

Simple processing of projects with different engineering versions
WinCC V13 supports the processing of projects from WinCC V12 in the compatibility mode. After processing in V13 such projects can be used again in a V12 engineering environment. It is thus not necessary to upgrade projects when changing the engineering version, which simplifies the handling of different projects.

Investment protection due to migration
WinCC V13 offers a migration of WinCC flexible 2008 SP2 or SP3 projects and also of WinCC V7.2 projects, thus protecting one-time investments.

Automatic search for software updates
The TIA-Portal V13 enables users to check whether new updates or support packages are available for the installed software. They can then be downloaded and installed, if required.

New innovative designs and styles
A special editor enables the creation of central innovative designs and styles for HMI devices. These can also be stored and versioned as s in libraries. By assigning styles to a device, a single step in the engineering can immediately change the appearance of all visualization s. This functionality is available in Runtime Advanced for Comfort Panels and 2nd generation Basic Panels.

Innovated controls and s
The design of the basic s, elements and controls has been innovated. The visualization can thus be created with a modern appearance.

Multitouch & gestures
WinCC Runtime Advaned offers the possibility to implement two-hand operation for multitouch without elaborate engineering. Standard animations support the user with the application of his function and in this way ensure safe operation of critical steps in the production plant. Easy navigation and zoom in lists, tables and documents is now possible via gestures.

WinCC Runtime Professional

SIMATIC WinCC Runtime Professional is a PC-d operator input and control system for the visualization and control of processes, production sequences, machines and plants, in all industries - for simple single-user systems up to distributed multi-user systems and solutions with web-clients across sites.
SIMATIC WinCC Runtime Professional is d on a further development of WinCC Runtime V7.0 SP3 and includes access to WinCC archives via OPC HDA, OPC A&E / OPC- servers and WinCC OLE-DB/OLE-DB. The basic package also includes API for runtime for the use of disclosed programming interfaces.

Redundancy as option
The use of WinCC server pairs increases the system availability.
If one of the two server computers fails the second computer will take over the control of the system. When the failed server returns to service the contents of all message and process value archives will be copied to the returned partner.

Enhanced diagnostics with the PLC Code Viewer
The PLC Code Viewer enables the status of function blocks to be represented and its malfunction to be traced on a PLC (S7-1200 and S7-1500).
The status of a S7Graph function block (e.g. step name, step number, error status) can be indicated via a control element. An extended control can be started out of this element to indicate the PLC Code concerned and the PLC Network.
No installation of STEP 7 is required on the runtime to display the PLC Code.

Unicode
The support of Unicode (UTF-16) enables different languages (e.g. Western Europe and Asia) to be used in one WinCC Project and simultaneously transferred from the engineering system to runtime.
An name in Unicode data format can be used for each runtime (e.g. tag name).
